About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you build end-to-end data solutions that help our clients turn data into real impact. You design pipelines, integrate multiple data sources, and create clean data models using Azure’s modern stack. You take ownership of quality, reliability, and delivery across environments. Responsibilities you are looking for

• Deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions by building and optimizing pipelines, transformations, and data models using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake Gen2, Azure SQL, and Snowflake.

• Ingest, integrate, and standardize data from multiple sources including SQL databases, APIs, SaaS systems, flat files, and streaming data into Azure data platforms.

• Develop clean, reliable data models using medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to support analytics, reporting, and Power BI.

• Build and optimize transformations using SQL, Python, PySpark, dbt, and Spark, including performance tuning, incremental loads, and CDC patterns.

• Ensure data quality, validation, monitoring, and governance with strong documentation, lineage, and management across dev/test/prod environments.

• Support migration projects such as SSIS, Azure by rebuilding workflows, validating data, and supporting cutover activities.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Azure DevOps and Git to support repeatable, reliable project delivery.

• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance issues, schema drift, and data discrepancies to maintain stable client operations.

• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, Product Owners, Analysts, and BI Consultants to clarify requirements and deliver solutions aligned with project goals.

What you bring

• 8+ years of hands-on data engineering experience delivering end-to-end cloud solutions in consultancy environments.

• Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake Gen2, Azure SQL).Production experience with Snowflake.

• Proven ability to build scalable, reliable data pipelines and integrate data from multiple sources.

• Strong data modeling skills, including medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).

• Advanced SQL, Python, PySpark, and experience with dbt and Spark.

• Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and Git.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  Our hiring procedure:

  1. Recruiter Interview (45 min)

  The recruiter assesses candidate’s motivation, ways of working, communication, interpersonal skills, job fit, and role clarity. Candidates who demonstrate strong alignment and fit during the recruiter interview are invited to complete the home assignment.

  2. Home Assignment + Technical Interview (1 hour)

  The technical interview is evaluated by 2 of our experts, who then assesses candidate’s technical capabilities and problem-solving skills, during the live home assignment review. The candidate presents their solution, explains their approach, and answers scenario-based questions. Topics typically include architecture design, data modeling, pipelines, tooling choices, performance, cost considerations, scalability, governance, and quality practices.

  3.Cultural Interview (1 hour)

  The cultural interview is assessed by 2 BI consultants who examines how candidates demonstrate AYBI’s values in real situations e.g. working with stakeholders, projects, and collaborating with colleagues, and how well you would operate within AYBI’s holacracy operating system.

  4.Leadership / Co-Founder Interview (45 mins)

  In this stage, leaders conducts an interview with you to understand how your work competencies, capabilities and values fit with AYBI’s culture, and core values.
